    The Role

    This is a UK based role where the majority of projects will involve collaboration with our New York and LA offices. As such, we're looking for a flexible individual that is happy to keep 11am-7pm as their core hours. Experience working with US clients is a real bonus.


    We're happy for you to work remotely wherever you are in the UK. But our London office will always be open to those who want to maintain in person working.




    As a Creative at Casual Films, you will be responsible for generating ideas, writing copy, laying up treatments, pitching proposals and developing videos that  intelligently answer our client briefs. 


    The best films start with the best ideas and the resulting work will be exceptional because of your input. You must be able to take messaging from Fortune 500 companies, and reimagine it as creative, effective and engaging video content. And, your ideas must correlate to the budget.  


    You will be joining (albeit remotely) a large production team of producers, editors, filmmakers and one other creative. Maybe you’re looking for a change from ad agency life, or believe video is the way forward. Maybe you want to join a team where no day is the same and you can see a project through from start to finish. We’re looking for someone who can leverage all the skills below to develop creative our clients will love.  


    Essentials 


    Copywriting - You must have experience of writing scripts, concepting new ideas -big and small - and be able to communicate those ideas succinctly and effectively in creative proposals.  


    Visual thinking – While design experience isn’t a must, you’ll be a visual thinker, know what looks good, and be able to create mood boards which bring your ideas to life.  


    Strong communicator – You will be responsible for pitching your ideas to clients and attending meetings with producers. You’ll also be a good listener and be able to action client feedback, take new briefs and collaborate with other team members.  


    Industry awareness – It’s crucial you’re aware of how the industry is evolving. You’ll be interested in making internal, B2B and consumer-facing films and be inspired by the communications of the moment.  


    Strategic thinker – You’ll be able to see further than just one film. You will have an understanding of how campaigns work and have ideas about how we can maximize value for our clients.  Applicants without any prior experience in corporate video will not be considered and should not apply. 


    What You’ll Do:


    • Generate creative ideas, concepts and scripts that clients will buy and that will deliver superior films. 


    • Critically analyse briefs when you first see them and work with colleagues to ensure we have the best brief possible as quickly as possible.


    • Write up proposals, designing them according to Casual’s branding


    • If required, organize the supporting documentation required for pitches.


    • Prepare for, research and attend new business meetings.


    • Show strong presenting skills at meetings, proposals, pitches and events when clients are present


    • Show clear ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities


    • Run concept development sessions involving production and post-production.


    • Demonstrate obvious awareness of budgets and an ability to flex creative ideas to suit the scope of the project.


    • Ensure proposals deliver the key messages, our level of impact, and the client brief in an intelligent way.


    • Ensure every piece of creative that is seen by individuals outside the company is compliant with Casual’s brand.


    • Write scripts, voice overs and storyboards for animation.


    • Display excellent ability with words and flawless grammar.


    • Demonstrate proven excellence with software packages including Adobe InDesign, Keynote, Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.
